Beverly (Bev) Hyneman Obituary

Celebration of Life

Beloved Beverly Larniece ‘Bev’ Hyneman

aka “Bam-Bam”

Sunrise: August 2, 1954 – Sunset: September 5, 2024.

Beverly Larniece Hyneman was born to the union of Robert and Shirley Hyneman in Tacoma Washington at Maddigon Hospital (Fort Lewis Army Base) on August 2, 1954. After the passing of Beverly’s father, Shirley and Beverly relocated to Seattle’s Central District, the heart of the Black Community. Beverly’s mother met and married Lillard Beckwith (Deceased) who raised her and became her loving father.

Beverly graduated from Rainier Beach High School in June of 1972. She continued her education at Seattle Opportunity Industrialization Center (Seattle OIC) where she earned a certification in the Medical Field.  Beverly worked at Virginia Mason Hospital as an X-Ray Technician for many years.

Beverly was a loving, compassionate, and kindhearted person. She loved family above anything else. At a young age, Bev being one of the first sisters and first cousins took on the role of sister/mom to all cousins and siblings that were born after her.

Although she didn’t have children of her own, she served as a mother and grandmother to her sisters grandkids, and took pride in caring for them. Beverly was an independent person where as she believed in having her own place to live, keeping a job and paying her bills (on time)!!! Beverly was an avid reader, she enjoyed baking, and she loved to dance being the center of attention, amongst her many friends.

One of Beverly’s proudest accomplishments in life was when she attended Navos Recovery, Mental Health and Wellness Center in Burien WA. She graduated and became employed as a food service worker in the bakery. Beverly also volunteered her time as a peer advocate where she gained recognition speaking at various city and state recovery conferences.

Beverly rededicated her life to the Lord and joined River Life Fellowship in Kent WA. She was excited to serve God and live life to the fullest. Due to her declining health, Beverly passed peacefully at home moments after talking to her older 1st Cousin Brenda, whom she loved so much. Some of her last works were, “I’m tired.” She fought a good fight and won the race. She will be missed dearly by all who know and loved her.

Beverly was preceded in death by her father, Robert Hyneman, Step-father Lillard Beckwith and sister Tracy Beckwith. Beverly is survived by her Beloved Mother, Shirley Beckwith; sisters: Cynthia Beckwith-Hayes (Donnie); Maria Williams (Alex); Nakia Sherelle Gregory; close friend and companion Ricky Massey and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nephews, Nieces, Cousins, Great Nieces & Nephews, family and friends.

“For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.” (Romans 14:8) NKJV.
