Delores “Lois” Johnson
February 4, 1939-April 27, 2020
Delores was born to the late Bertha Mae Davis and Willie Johnson in Skene, Mississippi. She was the 3rd oldest of 13 children.
Her early education took place in Mississippi and she later attended Federal Way High School in Washington. She retired from The Seattle Housing Authority after 30 years of service.
Queen Delores wore many hats. She was a devoted daughter, loving mother, awesome sister, beautiful grandmother, gracious friend, super-confidant and more. She enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards, fishing, doing for others and telling stories.
She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Johnson, mother, Bertha Mae Jenkins and stepfather, Johnnie Jenkins. Brother, Keith Jenkins, sister Donna Barber and great-grandson, Corday Johnson.
She is survived by her son, Leon Johnson (Linda Faye), daughters Hazel Hawthorne and Beverly Riggins-Bailey. Sisters Ada Grace (Frank), Alberta”Bobby Jean” Wilson, Jeweldene Gaines, Bertha Cambridge, Darlene Adams (Donnie), Yvonia Johnson-Murray (Ron), Diane Jones (Harris), Diana Barber, Dion Kelly and brother Alex Jenkins (Julie), 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Momma, we love and miss you dearly. We thank God for you, your legacy, love, and memories. Thank you, Momma for going above and beyond, pouring into us and for loving us unconditionally! Rest easy Momma you deserve it!
