Deloris Louise Curtis-Major was born June 22, 1934 in Tyler Texas to the late Abbie J. Jones and Luemma (Madea) Tyeskey. Deloris was an only child and she is preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Major, Frederick G Curtis, Sr (son) and Antika Yvonne Curtis (granddaughter). Deloris leaves to mourn her passing, her four children: Karen (Gary) Middleton of Ohio, Chery (Glen) Cummings, Wendell and Victor Curtis all of Seattle. Deloris was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and a host of great great grandchildren, family and friends that “LOVE” her dearly.
Deloris retired from the Boeing Aircraft Company in 1986, where she handled bonding composite material. Deloris also operated a in-home daycare for several years and was a driver of the mini train for the Seattle Urban League. Always the energetic and active person! Deloris loved to knit and crotchet and she was very skilled at making dolls, blankets, scarves and other crafts and patterns. Deloris love for plants created a loving and peaceful environment for all who entered her home. The love she had for her animals radiated her beautiful vibrant spirit for and of LIFE!
Deloris was affectionately known in the community as “Momma C” and “Ms. Curtis”. Deloris has been a longtime advocate for children and people in the "CD" community. Deloris was well known for her love and compassion for people who struggled and needed a place to lay their head, a hot meal and in some instances, providing that personal touch to make sure they we're able to make it through the day. Deloris devoted her life to community engagement and was dedicated and committed to show and express her love for those that were less fortunate.
Deloris loving spirit made her a "Giant” amongst men in her Little Frame! No one will be able to replace our Angel, Gone, but never to be Forgotten. GOD has given you your Wings for a “Job Well Done"
Rest Well Angel
