John Henry Johnson was called home to God on June 19, 2025. Born on May 17, 1974, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to John White and Carolyn Johnson, John’s last residence was in Shoreline, WA., where he lived each day with a heart overflowing with joy and laughter. Guided by his faith, he faced every challenge with the spirit of “Against All Odds,” ultimately achieving his greatest honor—becoming a beloved child of God.
Throughout his life, John learned the ways of God and progressively learned to walk confidently in God’s promise of restoration, cherishing each moment when he witnessed the hand of God at work. As scripture reminds us, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here.” John embraced this transformation wholeheartedly.
We are absolutely saddened by his passing and yet we are rejoicing for God has kept his promise to John and his family, to give John complete restoration. He firmly believed that, “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” His warm smile and joyful heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
John Henry Johnson leaves behind his loving mother, Carolyn A. Johnson; his sister, Kris M. Henton; his half-sister, Debra Trotter; his half-brother, Husani Slaughter; and a devoted circle of aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, John White, and his uncle, Joe White.
