Johnnie Rose Adams was born on October 2nd, 1934 in Opelousas,
LA. She was the only child of Louise (Lulu) and Henry Gillroy.
When she was young, her family relocated to Seattle, WA. She
graduated from Garfield High School where she studied
accounting. Soon after, she met and married George Washington

Adams, followed by their second child, George Gregory Adams in

and retired from banking in 1994. Johnnie had a deep passion for
early childhood development and often helped in the Sunday
school at Mount Zion Baptist Church. Aside from the deep love
she had for children, she also enjoyed spending quality time with
her family and friends and crocheting.
