Martin L Stone

Martin L Stone was born on September 19th, 1944 to Leroy and Ruth Stone in Uvalde, Texas with his brother,  Charles and sisters, Katherine and Emma. Martin passed away on February 13th, 2025 at the age of 81.

Martin loved and enjoyed his family and friends as well as Fishing and Playing his Guitar. He especially loved his wife Laverne Stone, Children and Grandchildren. An enterprising hard worker all of his life, he excelled as a factory worker for the Preservative Paint Company where he was promoted to a supervisory management level. He also oversaw and managed the family’s farm animals and grounds which also brought him a lot of pride and joy. 

Martin was a builder, mechanically very good with his hands and he loved to play his Guitar for the church, friends and family. He enjoyed good food and had quite a sweet tooth with cookies, pies and desserts among his favorites which earned him the nickname of “Yummy”.

Martin will always be remembered for his quick wide smile, easy going nature and his positive optimistic view of life. His sense of humor and his kindness will never be forgotten.  Martin L Stone was a Gentle Giant.
