Michele T Turner-Jones

Michele Therese Turner-Jones was born on March 15th, 1965 in Gary, Indiana where she was a member of St Monica-Luke Church. She was the oldest of two children brought into this world by Grant and Charlene Turner. She was a very loving child growing up and a joy to be around. As a student of William A. Wirt High School, Michele was a majorette and a member of many school organizations. 

In 1983, Michele moved to the state of Washington to attend the University of Washington and study political science. This is where she met Oscar Jones, her husband of thirty years. They first met in Math 103, where he literally stumbled into her life by almost falling on top of her after class. After forming a friendship and after graduating from UW in 1988, Michele and Oscar’s relationship blossomed into marriage on October 19th, 1991.

In 1993, Oscar & Michele started their family with the birth of their first child, Myles Grant Jones, and brought their second, Lauren Michele Jones, into the world in 1998. She was a devoted wife & mother to her family. She was a member of multiple parent committees at her children’s schools. She was her children’s personal school bus in the mornings, afternoons, for volleyball and basketball practices.  Most importantly, she was the parent you called if you forgot your lunch or permission slip. You’d often find her making pancakes on the weekends for her cousins and driving around her grandmother, Albertine Williams, on the many errands they used to run together. She was always remembered for caring and providing comfort to everyone she met, and providing balance for her husband, Oscar. She made her transition at home surrounded by loved ones on May 2nd, 2021 after a nine year battle with Alzheimer's disease. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Grant Turner; Grandparents, James & Mary Turner, and Charles & Albertine Williams.

Michele leaves to cherish her memory: Husband, Oscar Jones; Son, Myles Jones; Daughter, Lauren Jones; Mother, Charlene Turner; Brother, Grant Turner; A host of cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
