My beautiful Vickie, today I am learning of yoyr passing. My heart is broken. There are so many that have gone to rest in the last few months, that I had no idea had gone. My mother died 1/23/17... and I could follow what was happening in the world. I will miss you dear friend. I will miss you.

Deeply, deeply saddened both by Ms. Williams passing and my inability to attend her memorial service due to work. I was privileged to care for this VIP when she was first hospitalized last month, and eagerly looked forward to next seeing her at the bookstore. LEMS was a most prized treasure, and as a father there were few greater pleasures than to see my small children looking through its collection of Afro-centric books. I send heart-felt condolences to her family and to all who loves her. May we continue her legacy, as her soul continues to ascend through the spiritual worlds. Well done, Ms. Williams, well done.

The Association for the Study of Classical African Civilizations (ASCAC) extends deep condolences to the family, friends, and extended community of Queen Mother Vickie Williams. While her transition leaves a void in the hearts and minds of those close to her, that void reverberates far and wide, as the Queen Mother and her work had become an institution in Seattle and a home to national and international visitors, Persons outside of Seattle immediately recognized her influence when they walked into her bookstore and spoke with her.
Miss Vickie, a gentle spirit in action with others, was a fierce warrior and expressed love and undying commitment for the liberation of African people. She opened the Life Enrichment Bookstore to persons and groups who required a space to do work to liberate her people. The Queen Nzinga Heru Study Group, an ASCAC group, met monthly at the bookstore.
While the work of the Queen Mother influenced African Centered scholars across the nation, Pan African leaders like Dr. Leonard Jeffries and Professor James Small and organizations such as ASCAC, it also influenced the work of practitioners who took the knowledge gained and worked with it in their communities
We are sure the work Miss Vickie did and was known for will remain a legacy for others to discover and emulate. The Queen Mother will be missed, but as we are missing her, we can say with certainty, ‘Job Well Done, Miss Vickie. Job Well Done.’
As Queen Mother Miss Vickie Williams, Maa Kheru, continues to travel in the world of spirit, may she be protected, and may her journey move forward with without incident. May peace and joy be bestowed upon her, and may the Ancestors and the entire spiritual world receive her with open arms and embrace her with much love.

I was surprised when I received the news of Vicki passing. When I first met her I stared at her because of her style of course she called me out on it but I was overwhelmed with her energy and how she was a soldier for the African American Community. She was an extremely nice person and if she met you once she never forgot who you were... Aliyah my heart goes out to you. I will keep everyone that is surrounded around her loving energy in my thoughts and prayers.

I am still in awe at the lost of such a wonderful and loving individual. Sis. Vicki always greeted you with a smile and a loving spirit. She was truly an inspiration to all that came in contact with her and she embraced throughout the communities. We were truly blessed by her generosity, knowledge, wisdom and strength. The passing of Vickie Williams is immensely felt in the community. I have had the pleasure to intersect with Vickie over the years in so many capacities from her helping me find culturally relevant books for my art room at Hawthorne Elementary School to attending speaking engagements to festive gatherings at her book store to seeing her tabling at public gatherings from Dawn's Fish Fry to Seattle University to crossing paths in Columbus City. I appreciate her willingness and availability to share her wealth of knowledge. Thank-you Vickie for being you! You will be missed however your legacy will live on.
